Driving Sustainable Dairy - Interfood x Mars @ Dairy Campus

Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Frank Mars (Board of Directors, Mars Inc.) to the Dairy Campus – the research farm of Wageningen University – for an inspiring day of innovation, collaboration, and shared purpose.
The goal of this day was to explore how we can accelerate sustainable progress in the dairy industry. What made this event so special:
- A unique gathering of Mars’ dairy suppliers, researchers, start-ups, and industry experts – all brought together by Interfood
- Inspiring “speed dating” sessions showcasing breakthrough innovations in feed, barn, and manure management
- A deep dive into GHG reduction strategies, with contributions from Wageningen Livestock Research, Lely, GEA, Ambient Carbon, Biolectric and more
- Energetic moderation by Sasha Twining, who led the day with infectious enthusiasm and deep subject knowledge
What sets Interfood apart is our ability to connect the dots across the entire value chain – from customer to supplier, from academia to agri-tech start-ups. This event reflected that strength: bringing diverse players together to drive collective action for a more sustainable future.
Our partnership with Mars is truly unique, built on:
- Mutual trust and deep expertise
- A shared mindset for innovation and courage to try new approaches
- A long-term commitment to sustainability, Price Risk Management, and Quality
We are proud to be seen as a partner who is ahead of the industry – prepared, bold, and ready to act.
Frank Mars also shared his personal passion project buildingcoral.com:
“If we can restore coral reefs together, we can also transform the dairy industry.”
A powerful reminder of what is possible when we act with purpose.
The day concluded with a shared belief: Net Zero is only achievable if we move forward – together. With the right people, ideas, and actions, transformation is within reach.
