Permeate
Asian import demand is slowing down

Europe
Permeate market feels weaker but prices can’t go much lower
Permeate feels somewhat weaker as exports to Asia appear to dry up at the moment. Manufacturers are willing to accept lower prices. Still, the downside is probably limited as the price gap with lactose is significant and the lactose market still feels relatively tight. Product is changing hands at EUR 700-750 ex works, with product for Q4 delivery still being sold at EUR 700.
Americas
Stability at low price levels
There is very little to reports on in the US market as local trades have been limited. US origins do win most of the export business – despite export demand being slow – since the price gap is more than sufficient to offset possible duty disadvantages. Prices are reportedly still at around USD 0.20/lb (440/t) ex works for most transactions.
