Food safety is of paramount importance in the global dairy industry. As a leading global dairy supplier, lnterfood values quality and a solid quality and risk management system. An important part of this risk management system, is the Higher Level [98% score] IFS Broker certificate lnterfood holds.

In order to be able to supply lnterfood's customers with food-safe products that meet our and our customers' requirements, lnterfood conducts many supplier audits.

The necessity to perform these audits comes either from a supplier risk assessment or from customer requirements. If audits take place at producers, lnterfood's overall goal is to support a dairy producer in their own process assuming that the producer does not fully meet the set criteria. However, we regularly experience that the risk assessments are insufficiently substantiated. Therefore, a risk assessment template is created to clarify the criteria, the risk assessment and the required substantiation. Unfortunately, there still is another element lacking, which is the validation.

Therefore, the assignment is as follows: develop a blank template for better validation, consistent with the Risk Assessment template for lnterfood's suppliers. The product category in question is milk powders but this can be expanded, depending on the project progression. This enables lnterfood to better meet the demands of their customers.

To achieve the above objective, we answer the research questions below:

• Per risk: which matters must be validated in order to demonstrate that a risk is adequately controlled? The customer requirements that lnterfood must meet are taken as a basis, obviously taking into account legal requirements.
• In what way can a blank template per risk & validation step be prepared so that it can be clearly transferred to lnterfood's suppliers?
